The Association Humana Povo para Povo Brasil was founded in May 2007. It is registered as a non-profit association and qualified as a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest since January 2008. Humana Povo para Povo Brasil is one of the 40 associations connected to the International Humana People to People Movement. Since 2007, Humana Povo para Povo Brasil iniciated three similar projects in the dry area of Bahia. The project are based on the concept of Empowerment of the Family Agricultors, on the development of the person as a transforming agent of the society, on solidarity, active participation and social organization of the involved families. The activities are based on eight lines of action. Under each line there is a specific work objective, and goals to be reached. Here are the lines:
1 – Strengthening the family economy
2 – Food security, health and nutrition
3 – Access to safe water
4 – Development of the production
5 – Care for the environment
6 – Community and municipal development
7 – Training and education for all
8 – Children active in the political, social, cultural and economical spheres of the society
